I read this book knowing nothing about Visual Basic. I was fairly comfortable with Excel. This book does a fair job of teaching Excel as you are learning VB. The content was a little hard to follow at first. I highly recommend sticking with it and then re-reading it. I am nearly finished re-reading it and I have already written some pretty impressive code. My productivity at work will benefit greatly from this book.

This book is excellent for it’s narrow scope. It provides an excellent tool with which to train, if you have the time to sit and work through all of the examples. However, as a programming companion or reference, it comes up short.
